Song Title: “Livery Stable Blues”
As time passed this piece was also referred to as the “Barn Yard Blues.” It is the very FIRST recording of Jass music. The year was 1917, and it was recorded by the Original Dixieland Jass Band (ODJB).
Dan Levinson’s Roof Garden Jass Band ~ ~ ~
Dan Levinson – leader, clarinet & C-melody saxophone
Jon-Erik Kellso – trumpet
David Sager – trombone
Kevin Dorn – drums
Tom Roberts – piano
This performance by Dan Levinson’s Roof Garden Jass Band is a recreation of the piece as it was performed in 1917. The instruments used and the musical arrangement is as near exact as possible.
I own the CD that Dan produced with 21 songs on it, and I highly recommend it. Every number is unique and exciting!
All of the songs are performed with loving care to be as nearly perfect as posible to the way the ODJB would have sounded if you could have listened to them live in the recording studio back when they made their original recordings.

Jazz Electro Songs A Brief History Of Electro Songs
http://www.jazzelectrosongs.com/
Digital music has a history that goes well past electro songs and the club music scene of the last couple of decades. The idea of electronic music actually goes as far back as 1919, with the invention of the Theremin. The form continued to evolve over time, but it wasn't till the advent of synthesizers in the 1970's that electro songs and electronic music really started being taken seriously as a real form of music, rather than as a gimmicky, sideshow kind of area of the musical landscape.
