Hamawe Roots Festival – Virton(B) – Pentecost Sunday

Promotion video of a particular festival in South of Belgium, every day, on Pentecost Sunday. Many North-American acoustic roots styles are presented. Acoustic Belgian and foreign bands play Old Time, Blues, Western Swing, Boogie Woogie, Hillbilly, Cajun, Bluegrass, Gospel, Mariachi, Tex-Mex, … exclusively on acoustic instruments.
This festival take place in a farm near Virton(B). The ancient stallings of the farm serve as concert hall. A big tent prolongs these to increase the surface. Site decorated by a professional / western atmospher and environment like old Appalachian farms. Floorboard / Dance floor.

Violin and Fiddle tunes, blues, Irish slip jig, and cajun two step played by Ryan Thomson

Ryan’s site – http://www.captainfiddle.com Ryan plays a medley of 3 fiddle tunes on his violin – The Dickson County Blues from Dickson Tennessee, Shannons Slip, which is an original irish slip jig by Ryan, which commemorates an accident where his niece Shannon slipped and fell, and lastly a cajun two step dance tune. This video was recorded at a coffeehouse performance in The Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn, in Swampscott, Massachusetts. Ryan was invited to perform as “Captain Fiddle,” and he brought along instruments which included flute, fiddle, accordion, pennywhistle, and banjo which appear in other uploaded videos.
